Meet Brian Kolonich, Senior Account Manager for the Clearinghouse’s Industry & Workforce Services
Brian Kolonich is the senior account manager for the Industry & Workforce Services team at the National Student Clearinghouse. Brian is responsible for the ongoing operational management of key industry accounts.
How long have you been at the Clearinghouse, and what is your role?
I’ve been with the Clearinghouse for 13 years. As the senior account manager, I help with the operational management of our key accounts. I assist clients with their day-to-day use of our verification products, answering questions and making sure our clients have everything they need. I also focus on larger initiatives to build awareness about our products, capture feedback from clients, and make our customers’ experience better every day.
What is the best part of your job?
I love that the work we do is supporting higher education. It’s a very engaging mission, and it’s an easy mission to get behind. It’s inspiring to know that everything we do is focused on helping students and schools. We present a very good value to the higher education community, and we’ve introduced a really efficient service that our customers appreciate.
We provide information as part of a background screening process that allows someone to get a job. It’s very rewarding to play a role in helping people get employment. We’re always learning more about what our customers would like to see in our product, and we’re always making improvements. We have a clear focus on providing our customers with what they need, which makes coming to work each day a lot of fun.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Each day, I engage in strategic operational efforts and manage SalesForce for the Industry & Workforce Services team. I also spend time meeting and talking with clients, reviewing their needs and matching them with products and services that might benefit them. In between, I work on new projects and initiatives to keep making our product better.
What is one thing that you wish all of your clients knew?
Because the Clearinghouse is a nonprofit organization, the money clients spend on our products goes back to support higher education.
Outside of the Clearinghouse, what do you like to do for fun?
I’m a big family guy. I love spending time with my two daughters and hanging out with family and friends. I’m also a big sports fan, and I follow college basketball particularly closely. My family and I love to cook together, trying new recipes and new ingredients, so you’ll often find me in the kitchen with my kids on a given evening or weekend.
